Was so excited to receive 1st order but took a while to be delivered! Wasn’t helped being stopped by Jersey Customs! Threshold to pay tax is £64 so indicating value on package may help speed up the process.
I love the subtle possibilities: opening the doors and pull the back of the chair.
I miss the driver :)
It’s really stunning. The plating coating is impressive and special.
The techniques to operate several actions are amazing too
While not a member of the CMC - too many originals and not enough display space, I have to date purchased 27 models from the shop to fill gaps in my collection or because I fancied a mint replica of a particular model and have been impressed by the quality of the Club’s replicas and said as much in several reviews here.
So it is disappointing, on this occasion, to have to leave my first less than positive review. Put simply, I do not consider the boxes on offer to be value for money, especially those which would originally have come with an inner diorama/plinth. I recently purchased three and while I accept that the illustrations of the box artwork showed only the outer box, I naively assumed that the description ‘superb reproduction boxes ...’ implied that dioramas/plinths would also be included. A case of caveat emptor.
To begin on a positive note, the box for No 337 Chevrolet Sting Ray Stock Car is fine as the original model came in just such a simple box although at €8.95 the replica box seems relatively expensive compared to similar ones available online.
In the case of the box for No 256 Volkswagen East African Safari Rally car a simple disclaimer to the effect that ‘diorama not included’ would have saved me the annoyance and expense of buying a box to go with my original model that isn’t what I wanted. If I buy a replica box from an online seller, for example, I will receive the full package in the case of boxes which originally featured inserts and for a modest premium over the cost of the Club’s box with no insert.
The third box, for No 334 Mini Magnifique, is another matter and, in my opinion, fit only for the recycle bin as a window box without its inner tray cannot realistically be used for displaying a model. And €10.95 is expensive for recycle bin fodder.
So, overall, an unsatisfactory transaction which won’t deter me from buying from the Club again (my No 270 Bond Aston, silver grille version, arrived yesterday, is fine and will be receiving a positive review in due course) but I definitely won’t be buying any more boxes.
