I really enjoy this model. It is amazing

Wind the clock back over 60 years to Christmas 1965. Your nose is pressed up against the cold glass of the local toy shop window and right in the centre is a gleaming gold Aston Martin DB5. The very car you'd seen driven in Goldfinger by James Bond, the world’s most famous secret agent!
How many of us it at the top of our Christmas list that year, praying we’d been good enough to get one? An incredible four million were sold, the famous Corgi factory in Swansea barely able to cope as toy shops everywhere ran out. It was the world’s fastest selling die-cast toy and its success helping to cement Corgi as the leading British toy car manufacturer, eclipsing arch-rival Dinky Toys almost overnight.

Were you one of the lucky ones back in '65 or did you miss out? In which case your wait for an authentic, fully-working die-cast replica is finally over with this special Corgi Model Club edition.
All of the original gadgets are included – fully working! We've even included a spare bad guy in case you propel the hapless passenger to oblivion, never to be found again. The packaging is period-correct – a beautifully produced facsimile of the rare (and now very valuable) first edition box and illustrated fold-out display plinth. We have also included the all-important 'Secret Instructions' leaflet and label sticker – all exactly as per the 1965 original.

Here at Corgi we have always prided ourselves in the detail and accuracy of our models. ‘The ones with windows’ was an early calling card – a proud claim of the superiority of our models over our rivals. Then there was our 'Glide-o-matic' miniature suspension and other innovations such as 'Golden Jacks' removable wheels and the 'Trans-o-lite' lighting system for a model's lights!
But the real breakthrough came with the impact of film and television and a succession of unforgettable models such as the Batmobile, Saint’s Volvo, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the Yellow Submarine and of course this amazing James Bond Aston Martin DB5.
This Corgi Model Club edition of Corgi 261 – the catalogue number given to this 1965 Corgi Bond DB5 – comes complete with those all-important working James Bond gadgets we know and love:
• Opening roof and fully working spring loaded ejector seat for dispatching unwanted baddies in the passenger seat!
• Pop-out machine guns at the push of a button!
• Telescopic bumper rams to force SMERSH operatives off the road!
• Fully working pop-up rear bullet proof screen to protect against SPECTRE assassins chasing you!

In keeping with the original, you will receive TWO “Baddies” for that spring loaded ejector seat. Countless numbers were lost down the back of the sofa or between gaps in the floorboards – or even eaten by your dog! Now you will have that vital spare.
And, don’t forget those Secret Service instructions and that all vital 007 sticker that any self-respecting Double ‘O’ operative would keep hidden under their jacket lapel!
Nothing has been left out – this Corgi Model Club edition is exactly the same as that very first edition that appeared in shop windows in Christmas 1965.
The eagle-eyed may notice that our model omits rotating number plates and rear wheel tyre slashers.... but they were only introduced for the second, silver-painted, model (Corgi 270) that Corgi produced from 1968 onwards. The Corgi Model Club has produced that one as well – but it is this very first edition that's the best place to start your collection!
Only available from us, this beautifully reproduced full colour catalogue is packed full of 60s-era Corgi Toys.
This retro-styled metal tin will protect each precious Corgi Toys Certificate of Authenticity (one comes with every model) for years to come.
