224 - Bentley Continental Sports Saloon Black and Silver

£33.99

Introduced into the Corgi range in 1961, Corgi 224 was available in two colour variations – in either black/ silver or two-tone green. It was given Corgi’s famed jewelled lights, an opening boot that housed a spare wheel, as well as ‘Glidamatic’ suspension. However, it was its fingertip steering that stole the show – an innovative feature that allowed the model to be turned smoothly to the left or right.

With silver plated bumpers and grille, plus Bentley’s iconic ‘Flying B’ mascot sitting proudly on the bonnet, Corgi certainly pulled out all the stops to impress. Despite healthy sales of over 960,000, production stopped in 1965 with rumours that Corgi 224 was too expensive to continue to be produced. It nevertheless remains one of the finest and fully- featured Corgi Toys of all time!

We are Corgi Toys fans, just like you!

We’re fans, first and foremost. The Corgi Model Club Online Shop is where we can show off our fantastic re-issue models that launch every month and add to our growing collection of gifts for those wanting to re-live special childhood memories. At Corgi Model Club, we believe that if it’s not something that ignites your passion, then it’s probably not something worth doing in the first place.

This approach to business drives everything we do in researching, creating and promoting these fantastic diecast models. We work closely with Hornby PLC every step of the way to re-create products that our collectors are proud to own.
