492 - Volkswagen European Police Car Dutch Edition

This rare all-white liveried ‘Dutch Police’ version of Corgi 492 – created exclusively for the Netherlands – has an identical casting to the regular green and white ‘European Polizei’ version. It has the same iconic steering feature whereby the model’s front wheels steer left or right by turning the roof-mounted blue emergency light and chrome surround.

It also has the same detailed mid- brown interior and two police figures, plus an opening bonnet and engine lid, front jewelled headlights and chromed bumpers and running boards.

Apart from the colour, the notable differences are two ‘Politie’ stickers – one on the rear window and another on the bonnet – plus a Netherlands police crest on both doors. ‘Politie’ is the Dutch word for police. Collectors should note there was a third version of 492 for the Swiss market. Also in all-white it omits the door crests for ‘Polizei’ stickers.

Well, whow!! The reissue of the "Dutch Polis" is really so beautiful Made. I love it and it fits perfect to my collection with lots of "GB" Models. Corgi is still the Best. Cheers from Germany. Armin

VW Dutch Police car

A super little model of the scarce export only Dutch liveried Police car. Excellent paint finish and crisp tampo printing together with two uniformed officers within. I never managed to acquire an original of this model but pleased to be able to add this CMC replica to the collection.
