Excellent rendition of the Mercedes Pullman/cherooti.
I love the windscreen wipers .
Though I never had it as a boy, I'm delighted to have the opportunity to own one now.
This model has brought back many memories. I bought the origional in a window box with tyre slashers and loved that it was silver with the extra gadget, unfortunately it suffered from the dreaded roof panel problem, that being it was never flush with the car body.
But once again CMC have pulled out all the stops and produced a replica that is worthy of the Corgi badge.
There have indeed been a lot of criticism about the rear wheels sitting high up into the body of the car and this i believe is a packaging issue more than a flaw with the model, though some have said the wheel arch is slightly lower in this version.
I would suggest let the model breath and see if it rights itself, as the packaging seems to compress the rear wheels to the body in order for it to fit the plinth and bubble display unit. If you look at the front wheels they seem to be sitting lower so the car is sitting bonnet high and boot low.
I discovered a simple but effective fix. As I said my origional came in a window box so the packaging/display is new to me
But I still recommend this model as a fantastic replica that has the usual CMC high standards we've come to know and love . You won't be disappointed in choosing it as part of your collection.
Very nice Corgi 1967 Monte Carlo! I had that, when I was a kid. Now I’m older, like it the same :-)
