Launched in April 1968, this white edition of Corgi 275 (it was also available in metallic green) was only the second ‘Golden Jacks’ take-off wheels Corgi Toy to be introduced, closely following a Mini Marcos (Corgi 341) the previous month. From an era when Corgi were producing ever more exciting features, it was also given jewelled headlights, a tinted sun roof and a spare wheel contained in a small plastic enclosure mounted on the boot – just like the actual car!

Based on the earlier Corgi 252 Rover 2000, the tooling was cleverly re-designed to facilitate the new ‘Golden Jacks’ mechanism – essentially a pull-down lever on the base that released the wheel and acted as a jack to support the model. Corgi went on to release two further ‘Golden Jacks’ models in 1968 – Corgi 276, Oldsmobile Toronado (in June) and Corgi 338, Chevrolet SS 350 Camaro (in August).

We are Corgi Toys fans, just like you!

We’re fans, first and foremost. The Corgi Model Club Online Shop is where we can show off our fantastic re-issue models that launch every month and add to our growing collection of gifts for those wanting to re-live special childhood memories. At Corgi Model Club, we believe that if it’s not something that ignites your passion, then it’s probably not something worth doing in the first place.

This approach to business drives everything we do in researching, creating and promoting these fantastic diecast models. We work closely with Hornby PLC every step of the way to re-create products that our collectors are proud to own.
