Bought this as a Christmas to myself for this year and incredibly pleased with it as I've had a sneak look!
The one I had back in the 60's was gloss so not interested in the matt version at all and the fact that it comes in a superb repro box with all the paperwork and rockets is just amazing.
Really great choice by one and all and just need to have the shark nosed Ferrari F1 car re-issued now please.
The VW breakdown truck is an outstanding beauty - in white and red. But CMC chose to produce it in a colour somewhere between baby pooh and dirty dishwater. What a pity.
This really is a super model reproducing the Chevrolet police car from 1965 and I think makes a must have addition to the collection. On a personal note, whilst this model, like the Fire Chief car and the taxi, are indeed excellent models, I would like to see reproductions of the models that used the original one-piece Chevrolet Impala casting, particularly the State Patrol car which was all over black with the police State Patrol emblem labels on the doors of the car.
The later two piece body casting with its chrome 'sandwich' insert is a very attractive and accurate copy of its 1965 ancestor, however, the model has always looked slightly more bulky when compared to the slimmer lines of the 1958 predecessors. However, don't let this detract from what is a first class addition to the Corgi Model collection.
