Perhaps I am one of the very few members who keep asking (read: nagging) for the reproduction of Corgi Major models, but the reissue of this Batmobile/Batboat gift set raises my eyebrow. CMC's argument not to reissue Major models is because they are afraid these won't sell well because of the price, which -naturally- is higher than that of a "simple" carmodel. But what prediction makes sure the Batman gift set will? Most of the members do have both the mobile as well as the boat, sometimes twice or even more. If members will pay only for the box and the tow hook, they certainly will pay for the reproduction of the beautiful Major gift sets Corgi produced in the past, of which second hand items do ridiculous prices.
I am not against the Batman gift set -perhaps I will even buy one. But the CMC policy doesn't give me much hope for collecting the Corgi's I am most looking for: the Major models every one wants because whether they had them in the past and want to buy them for memory sake, or couldn't buy/afford them the back in the days but now can.
Still, I appreciate the CMC very much, they only should be less conservative imho.

Why didn't Corgi offer us this set before we'd all bought the items separately over the past 18 months ? Most of us have the Batmobile(s) and the boat, so to ask us do we want to buy the same items but in a set is a bit of a p**s take in my opinion. I know there are some diehard collectors who will want this set, but for a lot of people money is tight at the moment, the asking price is a joke too !
