I had a few of these Citroen Safaris in my youth and loved them. Getting a new one now in a box just like the old days is a real thrill. The model itself is beautifully replicated with the operating rear seat and wonderful paintwork. Five stars.
Corgi designer, Marcel Van Cleemput described the mechanism for the working wipers on this model as ‘ingenious.’ It certainly was and it’s great to see it replicated in this model from the Club. I was Given the Mercedes Benz Pullman model for Christmas 1964. This replica with its lustrous paintwork and gleaming brightwork is another fine reproduction from the Corgi Model Club.

A reasonable re-issue of a very short lived Corgi from the mid 60s, let down by the totally matte paint finish to the body. (I have two originals and both retain good gloss paint). Also, it's a shame that CMC didn't release this model with the much scarcer "shaped cast wheels" as fitted to the 246 Chrysler Imperial and 437 Cadillac Ambulance. Having said that it's still a nice addition to the collection.
