275 - Rover 2000 TC

£39.99

Introduced into the Corgi range in April 1968, Corgi 275, the Rover 2000 TC, was one of the famous ‘Golden Jacks’. Available in green or white, it was only the second ‘take-off wheels’ model, following the launch of the Mini Marcos (Corgi 341) the previous month.

The features didn’t end there as the Rover was also given an attractive yellow-tinted sun roof. And because the actual car famously featured a spare wheel on top of the boot, Corgi followed suit with a small plastic encloure that popped open to reveal a miniature spare wheel! Despite all these exciting features, 275’s casting was based on the much earlier Corgi 252 Rover 2000, which dated back to 1963.

Fabulous old rover

I've been dying for this to come out since it was announced.I had the original when I was too young to really appreciate it. The new version is absolutely stunning! The colour & sharp looking lines are beautiful. 1 of the best released yet.

Another Excellent Model

Model and box both fantastic replicas. When compared to my original (well played with as a child) model, I would say it is better. Casting body features are crisper, paint coat better, and helps retain such sharp edges. The die line across the rear of the bootlid is no longer present. Colours on model and box accurately replicated. Wow.
